Book Two.

Following on from the events of Between the Here and Now, Kathryn and Duncan strive to build a simple and happy life for themselves and their growing family, away from society. Yet in keeping secrets from one another, doubts and mistrust form between them, threatening to cause damage to all they have built.

And Richard Fitzpatrick is still not satisfied. After the death of Jonathan Lockland and his sisters union to Duncan, he is left with little protection, and his claim to Redding is holding on by the finest of threads only.

He knows it is only a matter of time before he loses Redding, and so he sets out to get rid of the competition.

Kathryn and Duncan's lives are thrown into turmoil once again again as they deal with the fallout of Richard's plans.

Separated for a second time, Kathryn must build a new life for her and her children while hiding in America. Not knowing if her husband is living or dead, she fights each day for stability. With the help of friends, old and new, she creates a new world for her family despite the immense loss and heartache they have suffered.

Yet when news of her husband's fate finally reaches them, Kathryn must finally decide if she can forgive the wrongs done and take her rightful place as Lady Kathryn Lockland.

It isn't long before she realises that Happily Ever After is nothing but a myth, and it is only through hard work and growth that she can pave her own way to happiness.
