Meryl, 30, has been now three years miles away from her hometown - Sylverbridge - working as an emergency doctor. One day, she is announced her brother's death through phone call and it made a wreck of her. Back home for the funeral, she dove back to the shared memories with her brother, filled with regret and nostalgia. Days after the burial, she now has to go back to her previous life where patients and sleepless nights were awaiting her. The idea doesn't excite her that much but she feels the strong need to leave Sylverbridge and the sooner, the better. That's when the wildest idea stroke her mind: travelling 580 miles back to Northtown - her working town - by renting a car and a private driver. Tobey is 35 and has worked as driver for years. Life hasn't always been kind to him and he's got his own demons always lurking inside and out like starving vultures - uncertainties, fear, anger, sadness. The fact is, Tobey is an extremely emotionally unstable man trying his best to keep his inner peace safe - or should we say, what's left of it. And then one day, he met Meryl. The annoying passenger he's gonna have to spend the longest 72 hours with from Sylverbridge to Northtown. What they have in common? This endless road that only seemed to lead them nowhere else but to sad realities that the world denies to protect itself from emotional chaos. From random strangers to acquaintances, from disagreement to understanding, from silence to laughers, from emptiness to feelings, this very same endless road will bind them in a way none of them ever expected.

In the third book following "What Happened" - Now knowing the truth about Lila and Hunter's relationship, Zooey finds herself feeling as though all of Borne has moved well past Michael's death, leaving her behind to get through her own trauma from that terrible night, alone. She soon finds herself running away from the terrible memories left behind in Borne to attempt an escape once in for all. Whether that be to Chicago or elsewhere, Zooey isn't sure, but she knows no matter where it is, it may be best to take her painful past with her and continue to keep it a secret from those it impacts the most. But with several relationships from home begging Zooey for closure from her first disappearing act, it may not be so easy for her to go quietly like she had planned. Lila seems to have made peace with Zooey now knowing about her romantic relationship she has with Hunter, but with Zooey no longer in town, Lila faces the choice of what to do about her mother's offer to move to New York. For the first time, Lila is overwhelmed with possibilities and chances for a better life for her and Dylan, but the fear of losing Hunter in the process looms over her head. And as the rumor mill in town grows stronger, Lila is reminded that there are relationships in Borne that are owed some truth and closure five years overdo. If she's ever going to truly move forward, she, too, must let go of Michael and the trauma of the past. The question is, will Zooey and Lila be able to not only move on from the memories that haunt them from that awful night, but be able to move forward being honest with each other in the process? ***CONTENT AND/OR TRIGGER WARNING: This series contains situations pertaining to violence, addiction, childhood trauma, sexual assault/rape, mental/emotional/physical abuse, and tragic accidents & loss of loved ones which may be upsetting for some readers.
