In the near future, the world plunges into a war against extremely powerful beings-entities sent by a higher power to cleanse a world steeped in sin and death. But Amara, a soldier in the Angel Hunters Corps, has uncovered a grim truth: the real evil is not found in these beings known as angels but in humanity itself.

"Humans possess the purest form of evil within us. We are born with it, and we can never rid ourselves of it. That is why we are flawed, and that is why our creator has every reason to remove us from existence."

This dystopian novel delves into the harshness of war against the unknown, the manipulation of media controlled by the government, military propaganda, and the power of friendship and love in difficult times.

When Evita starts asking questions Evelyn Sheer, the head of the city's Department of Energy, takes her captive and places her in a secret, underground research facility. Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.
