They are resitting their 7th year since they couldn't when the war broke out and destroyed almost everything. The gang are all moving on and aren't returning so this is a fresh start for both, Draco and Hermione. Draco and Hermione are alone, returning, to share a common room as head boy and girl, and their worlds keep on turning more and more topsy turvy.
