Dusty Red

In this story we listen in to the tragic life of Dusty Red. Starting off in high school we get to follow along with Dusty's discoveries of himself and others. He's faced with many challenges and the outcomes aren't always thought out due to his impulsive nature. Dusty's fractured home life-a crucible of an abusive, alcoholic father and a mother who bore the brunt-forged a profound lack of control over his own decisions. This deeply ingrained helplessness now fuels his battle with substance abuse. He chooses to protect his mother from his fathers spiteful drunk fists one night and gets struck in the face, taking the hit for his mother. This started a huge change in Dusty's life, and not for good. In a story of pain, love bitter and sweet, choice, dire consequences we see how Dusty handles it all while juggling his own demons.
