Szmirkó, the rebellious teenage boy - half fairy, half human - is always getting into trouble. He doesn't have any magical powers yet, which is why the others tease him, as if the whole world had conspired against him. He runs away to search for his long-lost father in the world of humans.
His loyal companion, Babuk, the cunning magic-draining cat, shares in his adventures, and soon they make new friends. With the help of Hokka, the fire falcon who has become a traitor but deserves a better fate, our hero crosses the mountain of Hargad, the dense forest of the Sevenfold Reach, and manages to cross the river that borders the magical land. Meanwhile, his mother also sets off in search of her son, but not before resorting to forbidden magic exchange.
In the flow of events, it soon becomes clear that Szmirkó's problems are nothing compared to the danger threatening Fairyland, but there is no turning back: he must face the forces of evil. What happens if the boundary between the two worlds is permanently erased, and one side seizes magic while the other takes hold of technological advancements? The moment arrives when the fate of an entire empire, wizards, fairies, goblins, and fire falcons depends on the resourcefulness and courage of a twelve-year-old fairy child.All Rights Reserved

Along with this new power, the dragon comes with a prophetic warning that Jak's presence on Kaolin is a greater threat to the balance of nature than the murderous king and he must leave before it is too late. Once Jak uncovers a way back to Earth, he also discovers the old couple that saved him is being held within the dungeons of the capital. He is forced to choose between saving them and preventing the dragon's catastrophic prophecy.
