It has been sixty years since the virus has wiped out eighty percent of the world's population and resources; forty years since the nation has been rebuilt. But life no longer mirrors what it once was. Now every year on December 31st, of the year you turn sixteen every male and female from the nation are rounded up on buses and taken to the Dome for The Selection. The Selection was devised to dictate how our nation would be run. We have been training for this our entire lives. I will have to go through a series of tests, and health assessments to be selected on where I will be placed in society. My only hope is that I will get to go home. My name is Lilith, but everyone calls me Lily. I just turned sixteen a month ago and tomorrow is the day I go to the Dome.Public Domain
