Spock was assigned to a mission, one of simple parameters that was meant to be almost like a vacation. He would be tasked with simply going down to a planet, one of the newly signed planets under the Federation. He would only need to be there for a year, to learn about the inhabitants, learn their ways, their day to day lives, and their language. The reason he needed to do this was to help fill the Federation's growing database on the many species that were put under its protection and peace treaty. All he had to do was learn. Collect data, learn, live there for a year. There he meets a young Voidian woman he will be living with for the year. The planet is an icy. snowy expanse as far as the eye could see. This Voidian woman was his guide, his housemate, and his protector.
