Eolia had always been obsessed with video games, so much so that she turned her passion into a career. But there was one game that consumed her like no other-despite countless attempts, she could never get the perfect ending with her favorite character. One fateful night, as a thunderstorm raged outside, she plugged in her phone, hoping for one more chance at the elusive victory. Then, a lightning bolt struck her house, short-circuiting the entire electrical system. Her phone sent a jolt of electricity through her, and everything went black. When she opened her eyes again, the sound of the ocean filled her ears, and the warmth of the Miami sun kissed her skin. Confused, she staggered to her feet and gazed at the unfamiliar beach before her. At the far end, an elderly man lay unconscious, his heart failing. Without a second thought, she rushed to him, performing CPR and bringing him back to life. Grateful beyond measure, the man, a wealthy middle-class person, offered an unexpected reward-his choice of one of his three grandchildren to marry. It was in that moment Eolia realized something incredible and terrifying had happened. She wasn't just in a new place-she had stepped into a world far beyond the screen. Welcome to Love in Paradise.

Evelyn

"Why do you always look like that?" "Like what?" "Like you hate every person in this room." "That's because I do." "Why? What did these people do to you?" "Nothing. Yet." "You're a pessimist. Every morning you come in, order black coffee, and glare at every single person in the room." "I don't glare at you," he paused. "Most of the time." "We'll that's because I tell good jokes. It'd be criminal to be rude." I could have sworn that I saw him smile. ~~~ Evelyn has a smile that lights up every room. The very ground she walks on seems to come to life from her touch alone. She sees beauty in the things most others dismiss. Michael not so secretly hopes that everyone on Earth dies in the fiery pits of hell. There's never been a single person he's met that makes him believe in the good of humanity. Except Evelyn.
