Illusion

Ashley Brown, a young black Latin American woman of Colombian origin thrown out by her parents, and Jaden Reed, an intern in the first year of medicine, would never have imagined that their paths would cross so unpredictably. It all starts in a van, at a birthday party where Ashley celebrates her 22nd birthday surrounded by her friends. Among the passengers, Jaden inadvertently captures a photo of her with her phone. This forgotten shot resurfaces a few days later in a cafe, when Jaden rediscovers it when Ashley accidentally enters the establishment. An exchanged look, a mutual recognition... and their story, as complicated as it is unexpected, begins.

Ashley, a strong woman but marked by family rejection, finds herself without a stable home. Seeking refuge, she visits her sister, a nurse in the same hospital where Jaden works, to ask her to host her. Her sister's refusal annihilates her, but fate intervenes once again: she meets Jaden again, who seems to be both a chance meeting and a key element of her future.

Despite their differences, their constant confrontations and their personal injuries, the two young adults are forced to share a piece of the road together. Ashley, with her courage and resilience, pushes Jaden to question his vision of life and love. Jaden, on the other hand, becomes a source of unexpected stability for Ashley, helping her rebuild her confidence in herself and others.
