voice that lingers

Jace is still grieving over his deceased girlfriend who died 3 years ago. Nakaukit pa rin sa puso niya ang pagkawala ng kanyang minamahal - sa tatlong taong lumipas, hindi nawala sa isip niya ang guilt dahil siya ang dahilan ng pagkawala nito. Almost everybody has already moved on, but he was stuck. Tila hindi makausad sa agos ng buhay - dahil si Chiara ang buhay niya. When she died, it seems like half of Jace also died with her that time. He cannot imagine moving forward without her by his side.

But one night, at exactly 3 AM, he tried calling her phone number. He wasn't expecting anything. But deep inside of him, he badly wants to hear Chiara's voice again. Because he knows, he's afraid that he might forget how her voice sounded like.

But he was taken aback when a familiar voice greeted him.

"Hello, Jace?"

It was Chiara.
