Lincoln loud run's to Gotham, the twelve year old does this after, hearing his parents talk about marrying his twin sister, off to some random stranger for money, so to protect Lexi and not wanting to abandon lily, lincoln takes them both to Gotham as far away from his parents and their control, however when a clown Kidnappes them and is gonna kill him and his sister's, lincoln loses control breaks free and kills him, now fearing that the batman is coming from him, he'll have to deal with this and avoid everyone, not knowing that he'll have hero's and villains trying to kill him, or trying to adopt him.
