When news broke that UConn will be receiving the 2023 number one ranked recruit in high school according to ESPN, word spread quickly through the basketball communit. Comments fly in about UConn having the top 2020 recruit; Paige Bueckers, the top 2021 recruit; Azzi Fudd, and now class of 2023's Cora Sash.
Unlike past recruits, Cora never visited the campus. She never played AAU, making her talent so much more impressive, the idea that someone like her would even make the top 100 recruit list, let alone lead it, was far fetched until of course that's exactly what happened.
Standing only at 5'6 she's a point guard, one hell of a guard. She started varsity in 7th grade, reaching 1,000 points before the end of 8th as well as receiving a handful of D1 offers. By the time senior year ended she had over well over 3,000 points and every school offering her a spot on their roster. Her most impressive stat being the impossible, a 100% free throw percentage. She has not missed a free throw since before 7th grade.
Quiet, soft-spoken, and reserved, with trust issues and the belief that she will never be good enough, UConn quickly learns that Cora isn't who they were expecting.
