At 14, Zach is an African American boy grappling with the loss of his mother, a renowned historian who specialized in ancient myths. Her passing from an unexplained ailment leaves Zach feeling lost and struggling with his identity. He lives in a supernatural world where Greek gods, heroes, and mythical creatures coexist with modern life. One day, Zach discovers he has the extraordinary ability to transform into a dragon, a power that both astonishes and frightens him. This revelation leads him to enroll in Mythos Academy-a prestigious school where humans, demi-gods, and creatures from Greek mythology coexist. At Mythos Academy, Zach begins to uncover the mysteries of his heritage, learning about the hidden realms his mother often spoke of and finding a new sense of purpose as he navigates his grief and newfound abilities.
