She lives a life of regret and pain. On the outside, people see her as a happy, lively teen girl. But what they don't know is inside she's screaming for help, inside she's hurting. She isn't really a happy, lively girl. Rather, she is a depressed individual. One that ruins people's lives. She lives by her mistakes, her failures. She forces herself to feel the pain she caused to others. She thinks she is worthless, that no one cares about her really. They may say they do, but she doesn't believe it. All she wants is to be loved, cared for, and understood. But no one deep down loves her. When she needs help they don't care enough to help. And no one tries to understand. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> That girl is me. And this is my story.

She gave herself a year. He refuses to let her waste it. Mila~ One year. That's all I've given myself. One year to pretend I'm fine, to laugh when I'm breaking, to love him in silence before I'm gone. Because Jonah makes me feel things I swore I'd never let myself feel again-like hope, like warmth, like the terrifying possibility of forever. And that's why I can't stay. Because if I let myself fall completely, I'll shatter both of us when the year ends. Jonah~ She thinks she can keep me at arm's length. That her sharp words and slammed doors will make me give up. But I see her. I see every crack she tries to hide, every storm she walks into alone. Mila thinks she's running out of time. But I'm not letting her go-not when she's the only thing I've ever wanted to fight for. What if the person you hated most was the only one who could save you? Mila is seventeen and tired. Tired of fighting, tired of pretending, tired of believing she'll ever be enough. She's convinced she's unlovable and wants to end it all -until Jonah crashes into her world like an unwanted storm. He's loud, reckless, impossible. She's quiet, guarded, done. But life doesn't care that they're opposites. Somehow, they keep getting thrown together-and somehow, it starts to matter. As the chaos of growing up threatens to break them and secrets from their families threaten to uproot them, Mila and Jonah might just learn that love doesn't always look like what you expect... and that sometimes, the right person is the one you never saw coming.
