Komei, a 17-year-old fashion student, lives in her parents' New York apartment.
Due to her younger sister's illness, her parents have temporarily relocated to a nearby city.
Her father has found a lucrative job, and her mother, a former nurse at the local hospital, put all her trust in that place.
Komei has always been seen as the black sheep of the family: poor grades, troubled friendships, and a general sense of being a misfit. Or at least, that's how she thinks others perceive her.
One day she'll find a diary in a small shop window, one of those girly ones with cute drawings and stickers, and from that moment on she'll start writing about her journey without even realizing it.
But this isn't a sad tale of a neglected older sister. It's the story of a typical teenager, and perhaps readers will recognize themselves in one of her many facets. After all, as the saying goes, 'Hell is a teenage girl'.
