" God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. "

Ragnarok, a bizarre coalition shrouded in mystery. A dynasty that once lived under the same starry sky as the City, until their inevitable downfall.
What purpose does a guide serve when its student finishes their journey?
What purpose does faith hold in a world of hoaxed certainties?

Everything rots, and so do divinities. Ambition can lead to nowhere, just like how it can lead to success.
Shine like a jade soon to shatter, or acknowledge failure and take responsibility.

Part of the "Static Monochromatism" series and written exclusively by Lio, Tales of the Ragnarok is a different read from its sibling books, harbouring no sequel or prequel alike (although it is suggested to read Sangria or Amber beforehand).
Scattered memories of the past, each chapter is a standalone story of one of the members of Ragnarok.
The other books of the "Static Monochromatism" series can be found under this same author profile.
Covers are drawn and owned by me (Lio).

Even divinity is forged, subject of fate whatsoever.

Dear readers, Allow me to invite you on an introspective journey, an exploration of the intricacies of destiny as I perceive it, not only in my own existence but also through the prism of the characters that populate my creative universe. Destiny, this mysterious force that sometimes seems to guide our steps, takes multiple and changing forms in my mind. It is not a single, predetermined path, but rather a complex interweaving of choices, chances, and necessities. For me, the destiny of each person, whether real or fictional, is like a perpetually evolving tapestry. Each thread represents a decision, an encounter, an unforeseen event. Some threads are thick and solid, forged by our will and deliberate actions. Others are thin, almost invisible, woven by circumstances beyond our control. In the following lines, I invite you to discover how this vision of destiny manifests in my life and in that of my characters. You will see how each decision, each trial, each triumph contributes to weaving a unique and unpredictable story. Prepare to dive into a narrative where reality and fiction intertwine, where destiny is not an end in itself, but a constantly evolving path. Let me tell you how I perceive my own destiny, as well as that of the beings born from my imagination... In a world where supernatural powers shape society, destiny brings together an unlikely group of individuals on a history-laden bridge. Slenth, a young man tormented by his past, crosses paths with Jokash, a powerless colossus, Shalan, a healer whose gifts consume her, LΓ©onen, a man on the brink of suicide, and Ritchard, an object manipulator with mysterious intentions. Their encounter, orchestrated by the invisible threads of destiny, will lead them towards extremely dangerous adventures.

Power has a price. No Half Bloods know this better than the Lifs and Lifthrasirs, possessing the power of Yggdrasil itself, able to manipulate the dimensions of Life and Death throughout all 9 Realms. The price? These Heroes outlive all Mortals, their only choice for happiness is to curse their beloved with a "Blessed Apple" derived from the famed immortal apples Iduna guards, trapping their loved ones in a land where they are never able to leave while the Heroes barely age over the millennia they spend adventuring among the 9 Realms. As if that isn't cruel enough, Odin revealed a terrible Prophecy - Ragnarok, the final battle of all Mortal, Ethereal and Incorporeal beings where the Cycle of Immortality itself will end, killing beings who have never died with a Lif and Lifthrasir playing pivotal roles in those events. The Patrons of Old established the Accords - a treaty setting terms for all future Lifs and Lifthrasirs. Forced to train as Warriors and sacrifice their freedom, they serve under the Guardians, the council of members from all 9 Realms who designate missions so that their powers are shared equally, an agreement that has kept the peace for almost a million years but, as Odin himself revealed, all things come to an end. Nothing spells disaster like the Blazing Spear of Blood, created by Ymir from the root of Yggdrasil connected to Hel, capable of devouring anything with its cursed flames. Stolen by Xerxes the Red King, it has been stored in Ubhal Γ’ir under the Lifs for millions of years, much to the chagrin of the Jotuns who now act as if it never existed. But it isn't forgotten. Someone is desperate to steal it and Comharrachadh Beatha is the perfect opportunity as most of the Guardians are on vacation enjoying the Tournament of Heroes where the Realms best Warriors come together on peaceful terms to battle each other. Treachery runs thick behind the celebrations as evil looks for an opportunity to rule again.
