The heat in quietness 🔥

The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the air conditioning but the space between them was anything but still. Their eyes locked across the dimly lit room the weight of unspoken words heavy in the air. She could feel the heat of his gaze as if it were a tangible thing tracing over the curve of her neck the way her chest rose and fell with each breath. It was the kind of look that ignited something deep inside her something that she had tried to ignore but couldn't any longer.

He took a slow step forward the space between them shrinking. His presence was magnetic pulling her in even as she tried to keep her distance. She wanted to say something anything to break the tension but all that came out was a shaky breath

"Why are you so far away?" His voice was low a challenge in the softness of the question.

She swallowed, her pulse quickening every fiber of her being screaming to close the distance to feel the warmth of his skin against hers. But she hesitated caught in the storm of her own emotions. "Because...I'm not sure I can trust myself" she whispered barely audible.

His lips curved into a half-smile but there was no humor in his eyes. "You don't have to trust yourself Just trust me"

Before she could answer he was right in front of her. His hand reached up brushing a strand of hair away from her face the touch electric. Her breath hitched her pulse racing as his fingers lingered near her jaw. She wanted to close the gap to feel the pressure of his lips on hers but something inside her held her back unsure torn between what she wanted and what she thought she should want.

"Just one kiss," he murmured his voice a temptation she could no longer resist

Her resolve shattered. Without thinking she leaned in, her lips meeting his in a searing kiss deep and hungry a perfect mix of passion and need. Time slowed the world fading away until there was only the rush of their breaths the fire between them and the overwhelming pull that neither of them could deny.
