Calliope just wanted to run around Dallas, destroying vampires and saving whoever she could. 



350 years ago, the Portal opened up above Dallas, Texas and mythical creatures rained chaos upon the city and soon spread to the rest of the state. With the combined efforts of the Guardian Valkyrie and the vessel of the Shield, the borders of Texas were as far as the monsters would be able to roam.

In the present day, Calliope Lymph has been newly made the Guardian Valkyrie and all that entails. When presented with the opportunity to escort the newly-made Shield, she leaps upon it. It was just unfortunate that it had to be her childhood friend, Milo. 

Calliope is forced to deal with the world as it further changes, with looming responsibilities of protecting the Portal. She must protect Milo long enough for him to complete his duties in maintaining the barrier around Texas - and if he seals the Portal, that would be good, too. 

What she didn't account for was everything else along the way...
