Kim Aeri hated hospitals. The white walls, the constant smell of antiseptic, and the mechanical beeping of machines made her skin crawl. But what she hated even more was being left here-alone.
"I don't want to stay," she whispered, gripping her aunt's arm tightly.
Her nails dug into the fabric, but her aunt didn't flinch.
"This is for the best, Aeri," her aunt said softly, though her voice wavered. "You'll get better here. They'll help you."
"Liar," Aeri hissed, her voice trembling with barely restrained anger. "You're just like them. You want to get rid of me."
Her aunt's face fell, but she didn't argue. She simply squeezed Aeri's hand before stepping away, leaving her with the man in the white coat.
Will their chemistry work? Or Aeri will loose herself?
The room was quiet, too quiet. Aeri sat on the edge of a chair, her arms wrapped tightly around herself.
She rocked back and forth, her eyes darting to the door every few seconds.
"Hello, Aeri," the man said gently, breaking the silence. "I'm Dr. Park Sunghoon. It's nice to meet you."
