One secret and a lie

It's not just the "thug" in you-it's who you are as a person. You coming into my life made me see things differently. You showed me a world beyond what I've been through.

Maybe I'm scared of how life might change since I met you, or how love might feel different from what I'm used to. It's a change I've needed, but also fears I wasn't ready to face. I wasn't ready to let go of the old version of love I knew.

I feel stuck between different kinds of love-between a man who is still learning how to love, a man whose love is deep and rich, and a man who once knew how to love but lost it along the way.
