Katsuki Bakugou - a popular hero sensation deals with his disappointment in the life he had planned for himself, begins to experience increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Disappointed and bored by the pressures of being at the top has, he longs for a different life. Japan mourning the loss of their beloved All Might and the retirement of past NO. 1 Deku, Pro-Hero Dynamight is all that's left to hold the burden of the events from a year ago.

He hates it. The way he was expected to be exactly like All Might, the way people saw him as the replacement for Deku. His life had shifted from enjoying the hero life to hating the shoes he is left to fill. After a solo mission following gruesome and disturbing visions, Katsuki is sure that he is seeing things. He knows someone - or something - is following him. Nobody believes him, not his fiance, nor his best friend, nobody.

On his descent into madness, with nobody to believe him, he calls someone he hadn't dared speak to in a year. He's almost annoyed about how quickly Izuku believes every word he says, showing up to see him in his tarnished state.

He's going to die, he's sure of it. Izuku isn't ready to let him die though, not yet.
