Shannon, in all her infinite wisdom, took one look at Jasper Hale and thought, Yeah, that man needs therapy.
In her defence, he constantly looked like he was either solving complex mathematical equations in his head or internally screaming at the horrors of existence. Maybe both. Either way, it was bad.
So, being the considerate citizen she was, she slipped a note into his jacket pocket-her therapist's number. Because, really, someone had to help this poor bastard.
Jasper Hale, immortal vampire and veteran of a thousand battles, found the note later that evening. He stared at it. He blinked. He stared at it some more. Did... did someone just diagnose him in passing?
Curious (and also mildly insulted), he dialled the number. A calm, gentle voice answered, already prepared to guide him through the labyrinth of his deeply repressed trauma.
And that, dear reader, is how Jasper Hale found himself in therapy, encouraged by a well-meaning human who took one look at his tormented existence and said, Yeah, no. We're fixing that.
