For all her life, Shu Kan believed she lived a normal life. Even after her mom divorced her dad, and they moved to Tokyo- she always believed that her life was still normal.

Up until the hunt for missing cards uncovers to her that she has never been truly "normal", and that she is missing... Something.

Hikaru Kanno on the other hand has always been "odd", never having been able to feel emotions like other people do, but magical capabilities like no other.

Up until his hunt also begins, in order to feel "normal", to feel what he has been missing all his life.
