The Disappearance of Mari Mitchell In 1982, fifteen-year-old Mariann Mitchell vanishes without a trace while walking home from school in the quiet town of Willow Creek. Taken by an unknown captor and locked away in a decrepit, hidden location, Mari's once-ordinary life spirals into a harrowing battle for survival. Cut off from the outside world, she must summon every ounce of strength, resilience, and wit to endure her imprisonment-and hold onto the hope that one day she might escape. Back home, her mother, Eleanor Mitchell, refuses to believe the worst. Despite years of dead ends and growing doubt from everyone around her, Eleanor's unwavering faith that Mari is still alive becomes her driving force. While the world moves on, Eleanor clings to fragments of evidence and intuition, desperately searching for her daughter and holding onto hope against all odds. As the years pass, Mari's captor grows more unpredictable, and the window for her escape narrows. The story weaves through her years in captivity, her moments of defiance, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter that refuses to fade-even as decades separate them. Set against the backdrop of a world without modern technology, The Disappearance of Mari Mitchell is a gripping tale of resilience, survival, and the enduring power of hope. Will Mari find her way back to the life she was torn from, or will the darkness of her captivity consume her forever? --- thanks for reading

Hope Flynn used to love water. She never realized the power of water, or the strength of it until the accident. Now Hope knows just how dangerous water can be. Water is the reason her sister is dead, and the reason she almost died. Hope can't remember what happened the night of the tragedy, but everyone assures her she couldn't have done anything to save her sister. Juliet Price has attended Redwood High since the beginning of sophomore year, but she's never spoken to Hope, Juliet doesn't fit in with her classmates as she wasn't born rich and she didn't grow up getting everything she wanted. The only reason Juliet is at the exclusive private school is because she's living with her wealthy aunt and uncle. Juliet knows what happened to Eleanor Flynn, most of the world does. The Flynn family are very wealthy and very famous. Even though Juliet and Hope have never spoken, Juliet can tell that Hope is acting weird and she doesn't think it's entirely because Eleanor is dead. When Juliet and Hope are brought together through a class project, Juliet starts to realize that Hope won't be able to start moving on unless she finds out what happened the night her sister died, and why she can't remember it. When the two start investigating, they realize that the truth is pointing to something dark. Almost everyone attending Redwood has secrets, and they'll do what it takes to keep them private. When the truth starts to come out, Hope is left to wonder if she remembers the dreadful night and finds out she had something to do with it, will she ever forgive herself?
