This story is my own imagination of Travis's backstory in Sally face. It incorporates my experiences with growing up in a toxic, sometimes abusive, Catholic household. Keep in mind, this is not to bash on any Christian religions, it's only my personal experiences.

Travis grew up knowing a couple things. One of those things was that being gay was a sin, and that if you were gay, or anything like that, you're going to hell. Or at least, that's what he was told. But after an incident with Sal in the boys washroom, Travis starts to think that he might have been wrong the whole time. Just a quick warning, this is a pretty heavy story and contains things like abuse (both verbal and physical), drug use, suicidal thoughts and attempts, slurs and swearing. This story is about a boy. A boy with blonde hair, his name is travis. Travis never belived that he was able to feel safe. To have a home that made him feel happy and wanted. He never had that special home. Even from childhood he didnt have it good, his father got worse over the years and the forced cristianity took a tole on the boy. Soon his last year of highschool, he met a boy. A boy who would forever change him. Travis met the boy and was a total nunce to him, soon though he would begin to question everything. Why he thought about him so much. Why he wanted to hug him, why he dreamt about kissing him. Why everything reminded him of sal. But as that all happened, he tried to pray and push it down. He tried to take it out on himself. Tried to take it out on sal. He tried to get sal away and distance himself and couldn't understand why the feelings only got stronger. He would soon find out and learn how to exept his sexuality. Though his father was in the way of that being fully successful.. Kenneth Phelps is the lead priest at the local church and has strict rules for his family. This leads to his son Travis Phelps to hate his whole being. His problems with his father are bad but he gets to escape at school being the one who pushes people around. Until he meets Sal Fisher or "sally face" a boy with a mask who Travis often fantasizes about despite thinking it's a sin. Due to his love hate for Sal he bullies him and his friends. But Travis and sal get to know each other better and Travis might find someone who is worth sinning for. Sal fisher or "sally face" just moved to the Addison apartments over the summer. He met Larry Johnson his now best friend who introduced him to all his friend's. When school started everything was going smoothly until Travis Phelps the local priests son started bully Sal and his friend's calling them homos and an array of awful things. Despite Travis awful attitude towards sal and his friend's sal tries to befriend Travis and get to the core of his problems After they get close sal might just help Travis find someone who is worth sinning for. Death Lingering
Sal screamed so loudly that it hurt Travis's ears and echoed in his head for several minutes after it had finished. The sound was unlike anything he'd ever heard on TV, unlike anything he'd ever made when his father beat him. It was visceral, primal. Filled with the most basic of instinct from any living thing: fear. A kind of it that was so deep, it lacerated Sal's vocal cords as it tore through his stomach and out of his throat, loud enough to reach heaven, desperate enough to be a prayer.
