In the oppressive climate of the Jim Crow South, a Black woman named Alexandra (26) and a white man named Aliex (27) dare to defy rigid societal norms and marry in secret. Living together in a small, weathered house on the outskirts of a tight-knit Mississippi town, their love becomes their only refuge - but that fragile peace is tested when Alexandra's pregnancy forces both families to confront the harsh, dangerous realities of their interracial union. Faced with the threat of social ostracization, legal repercussions, and the possibility of losing their child before it's even born, they must navigate a treacherous path to protect their love, their home, and the life they're fighting to build together.

Angie snapped, as the graffiti covered trains roared by. "What do you see in me, anyway? I'm like any other black girl on the street!" "You really want to know what I see in you, Angela?" Austin spoke up. "I see a woman, a beautiful, smart, caring woman, with a fine sense of humor and with a good soul. That's what set you apart from all other women, not just black women that I have crossed paths with in my lifetime," he said. Tears threatened to form in Angie's eyes at his words. "I also see a woman who's been hurt so many times, that she's afraid to be close to the source," Austin continued. "Well, I'll have you know, Austin, that I am a grown woman, I'm not afraid of anything," Angie retorted with bravado. "Oh? So then why do you keep pushing me away?" Austin asked coldly. "Why can't you let me love you?" ****************************************************************************************** Set in New York City in the early 1980s, college graduate Angie Carver meets young, handsome plumbing trainee Austin Phillips on the bus. Sparks fly, and eventually they fall in love. Austin is head over heels in love with Angie. While Angie loves him too, it's hard for her to reciprocate that love, the reasons being that Austin is a little younger than she is, and most importantly, their skin color, as Austin is white and Angie is black, causing strong disapproval from her overbearing mother, a jealous ex lurking around, and an ignorant "best friend" who doesn't understand. Will Austin and Angie rise above or will their love crumble before it begins?

50 parts Complete Mature

Her family is black. His family is white. Both families are strict on family tradition and are harsh towards people of different racial backgrounds. Will the families make it through the racial challenges in order to accommodate their children's love for one another? Will Asante and Francois survive the painful judgement and treatment from their different families? Will the families be able to handle biracial children as part of them? Written by a South African undiscovered writer, Interracial Love addresses the sad realities of trying to unite two races unconditionally in a rainbow nation after the historical Apartheid era in South Africa.
