Morlux isn't sure what to do, and her head still hurts like crazy, so she sits down and watches the fight. She chuckles a little at the thought that enemies in opposing sides are fighting over her and winces as she wonders if she's going crazy. Sustained brain damage is not good for her sanity.
A tap on her shoulder brings her out of her thoughts. "Come to watch the show?" She asks because her head is really spinning now. The person crouches down next to her. A stormtrooper? How strange. Morlux had never felt more drowsy in her life.
"Jeez, what did you do to your head?"
Morlux had never felt more alert in her life. She bounds to her feet and turns to face the Stormtrooper. "Sirene?" She hisses. "What are you doing here?"
Sirene gets up with her hands on her hips. "Moff Gideon told me about your mission, but he wouldn't give me details. Clearly, you are putting yourself in too much danger. You're leaving. NOW."
She tugs at Morlux's hand, but the Lieutenant refuses to move. "I have a mission to complete," she says. "You need to leave before they see you."
"I'm not leaving without you." Sirene pulls out her blaster. "You have put yourself into too much danger." She huffs. "You're supposed to be retired, remember?"
"I have to do this," Morlux protests. "This is my fight." Strange how in this moment, she is no longer thinking about all the pain she has encountered and instead about little Grogu.
And Sirene. And beautiful, stupid, Sirene. Morlux would do anything to keep her safe.

While this story begins from a scene in the Mandalorian and is set in the Star Wars universe, the characters and plot vastly differ from canon.

Vella Delaba had been raised as a peacekeeper, a knight. But by necessity, she'd become a warrior and had fought in many wars. She'd been a padawan in the Clone Wars and had joined in the battle against the tyrannical Empire. But no matter how many fights she came back from, she was never prepared for what she'd lose. The Jedi had been slandered, their once loved name became mud beneath a blurrgs feet. She had fought battles civilians couldn't and was now branded a traitor. Her past haunted her. The Jedi haunted her. The Force haunted her. But no matter how much she ran, it always caught up. The Galactic Republic was long gone, the Jedi were dead, even the Empire had been defeated. She'd lived through all of it, all because she'd ignored and hidden one of the most important things about her. The war was over, the Rebellion had won, the Empire was gone. So why was she still struggling to find where she fit in the mix of it? She was a Jedi. Where did a Jedi fit into a galaxy that hadn't seen one for nearly thirty years? "I need you to watch over this child I'm taking care of." The Innkeeper's eyebrows raised at the request. "Oh? For what reason?" "I need to find a job. Can't take him with me, and I can't leave him alone," Din explained curtly. "Can you watch over him until I get back?" "Well, I don't know if I'm equipped to watch him," she chortled as she waved a hand over her eyes. "But I'll keep him out of trouble. Where is he?" "He's in a carrier, it will follow you," he said, pushing a few buttons on his vambrace, moving the pram to behind the desk. "And does this child have a name or shall I call him Mando Jr?" Din breathed out a laugh at that. "No, he doesn't. He's just. . . the child." The Innkeeper pursed her lips at that, but shrugged. "Your child. Your business. Take care of your job, Mandalorian. The Foundling
Din Djarin must defend the child against dark Force wielders who would gladly take the little one off his hands. He will have to decide whether to trust some new allies, for the safety of the child. Note: This was written before season 2 of The Mandalorian came out. I wanted to throw together some characters from different Star Wars series and see how they'd interact. Turns out, a couple of them did end up meeting. In this story, they get to go on a whole adventure. They learn some things about each other and about themselves along the way, which is often painful, but could create bonds of trust if that's what they choose. Getting into these characters' heads and exploring the Force and the galaxy far far away have been an amazing ride. I finished this story on May the 4th, 2020. Then later, my friends urged me to polish it up and put it out there. So here it is for anyone who would enjoy it! It's not meant to replace anything that's going on in the show (which has been amazing so far, by the way). It's just an exploration and speculation on these characters and their universe. This is a fanfiction. The universe, most of the characters, and most of the locales belong to Star Wars. If you search a character or planet on Wookieepedia and it comes up with nothing, chances are I made them up (because I checked, too, before I gave them names). However, they were sometimes partly inspired by existing characters or planets in Star Wars. My use of the mando'a language was inspired by its use in Karen Traviss's Republic Commando novels (which I highly recommend if you want to learn some things about Mandalorian culture . . . Born in 30 BBY, Nia Senn was a youngling at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant when Order 66 was initiated. After escaping the purge, she gets rescued by a Mandalorian. Years later, she tries to find her place in the galaxy while avoiding the remnants of the Empire. Secrecy and hiding is all she knows. Until she meets a mysteriously defiant Mandalorian who, like her, is also living a life of isolation and concealment. Secrets get revealed as two people, who have been alone most of their lives, are slowly drawn together as they discover similarities with each other. However, things heat up when Nia meets Din's friend who took over the crime syndicate on Tatooine, a man who also wears Mandalorian armor. {I don't work with Disney or LucasFilms.
