"We can be Heroes, just for one day" - David Bowie, from the 1977 song 'Heroes'
When the seemingly lost daughter of the two deceased Potters finally appears back in the public eye after thirteen years, nobody knows what to do, and how to continue with her being yet another target for the dark lord. This story follows the young daughter of the late couple (Lily Evans and James Potter) through her journey throughout her Hogwarts years.
Staring during the third book/movie of the Harry Potter series, this story dots down and keeps track of all of Mary Potters achievements. It captures each and every one of her adventures and accomplishments from her first year at Hogwarts where she struggles through the meetings of her brother and the settling into an entirely new school, to an unexpected, disapproved, love blossoming despite how many people tried to prevent it from occurring at all, all the way through to her fighting on the front lines of the battle of Hogwarts during the early months of 1998.
'Harry J. Potter.
When the letters from you and the rest of the order gradually stopped at the start of summer, I think I already sort of knew. I already had this sort of knowing sense that I was no longer welcome at the burrow, nor was I welcome at number twelve Grimmauld place anymore, and I think I already knew too that I was no longer welcomed at mine and Remus's little cottage in Abersoch, the one that you never got to visit. But none of that really bothered me. The only thought that truly stabbed at my mind whilst I lay in bed trying to sleep was the idea of me not being welcomed back to Hogwarts in September. That was the only thought that truly terrified me. I just thought you should know that, and I'm sorry about it all, about everything. I hope you know this isn't what I wanted. I didn't try to make it all end up like this; it was an accident, Harry, a horrible, horrible accident that I didnt know how to fix.
Your sister, Mary Potter-Lupin.'
