Tina Monae Diamond is a junior in high school living with her alcoholic father. Her life begins to improve when she meets a rebellious boy named Tae Davids. Until that point, her high school experience had seemed like a dream come true, but her father's addiction had started to take a toll on her.

Tae's life outside of school revolves around caring for his mother, but things change when he meets Tina, a cute and popular girl. While his mother will always come first, he finds himself thinking about Tina more and more.

As their high school years come to a close, the only person they can rely on for support is each other, as they navigate the challenges of first love. Where will Tina and Tae end up, and will their relationship last forever?
