In Ancient times, people of the old Greek city, Pinessa, prayed to a spirit that they believed could bless them smarts, miracles and good fortune. This spirit, Thavma, or otherwise called "O' Wise One" in prayers, was given small sacrifices, such as food or money and, of course, the prayers and faith of the people.
