Escape to nowhere

he ran, and ran, and ran... hes lost, but he escaped his wretched mother. a woman who should've loved him, but abused him. shed beaten him with a brick to his head and a bucket of acidic material. but he did nothing, but look like his elder sister. as he walks down the street he hears the soft hum echo through the darken, lonely streets. he stops in his traccks and turns. the truck is a few houses down, parked, but on. he shakes his paranoia away and turns to walk again.. but he swears the hum of the truck gets louder. he walks and walks then he stops. staring with his one good eye at the road. the hum cuts sharply and the sound of heavy, menacing footsteps drag against the loose pavement. kicking at small pebbles from cars who'd passed by prior. then, the world fades away and he slumps. a man stares down. "I'll protect you.." his voice rings out before it all sways into an abyss of nothingness. limbo.
