Flannery Coswell has died two times before. This is her third and final chance at a normal life. She has been to Heaven and Hell. Yet, she will never be normal. She a Hell Spawned Fallen Angel. Lance Alverrons has also died twice; but has always gone to Heaven nonetheless. He is an angel, and has heard of the evil prophecies foretold in legends. He is told that the Child of the Demon will arrive to kill him. What he does not know, is that Flannery is that person.
