The [Ottoman Empire Flag](https://ottomanempiire.blogspot.com/2025/01/historical-evolution-of-ottoman-empire.html) underwent several changes over its history, but its most iconic and widely recognized version, especially during its later years, featured:

Design:
Background: A solid red field.
Crescent and Star: A white crescent moon and a five-pointed star positioned slightly off-center.
This version of the flag became prominent during the 18th and 19th centuries as part of the empire's modernization and reform efforts. The crescent and star are symbols traditionally associated with Islam, which played a central role in the identity of the Ottoman state.

Earlier Flags:
Before adopting the red background, the Ottoman Empire used a variety of flags with colors such as green, blue, or white.
Some earlier designs included different Islamic motifs, inscriptions, or symbols reflecting the sultan's authority and the empire's military might.
The modern flag of Turkey is directly derived from the Ottoman flag, maintaining its red field and the crescent and star motif.
