In Gotham, there was a rumor. A rumor, saying that the Bat was the coalescence of their sins, come to punish them (they said that, due to the Batman being formed of their sins, it could not kill them, lest it be weakened).
The Bat was formed of the night, and the lines between it and the night blurred, to the point that it became all but invisible in the shadows, only able to be seen by the glow of its eyes, or a shadow blotting out the little light of the moon as it flew in the skies, surveying its territory.
The Bat was eldritch, a myth, a tale told to children to frighten them into behaving. 'Be good, and the Batman won't snatch you away to join its brood'.
By day, a ditzy socialite, CEO of Wayne Industries, by night, a vengeful shadow in the dark, punishing criminals and doling out justice, the Bat was real.

Weakness
It was an inside joke. Each of the 'batfam' had a weakness. No one - not even Alfred - knew Batman's. Damian's was easy; Damian's was the heat. Couldn't stand it; he got way too hot way too quickly. Tim's was the dark. Was never found asleep without either a light on or the door open with a light on outside. Jason's was water. He couldn't hold his breath and had panic attacks when he had prolonged contact; say he was in a pool. Dick had two; cold and poison. He froze in twelve degrees (C) and never left the house with a jacket on. And the poison traveled at least three times as fast through his bloodstream as he didn't clot easily. Alfred had one too; as impossible as it seems. His was his age; he was nimble, yes, quick, yes, agile, yes, but occasionally his limbs cramped, or he had trouble breathing. ---Ⓜ️ for blood, gore etc, and bad language! ---Kumpleto
Gone with Gotham
Twenty years ago, they made a huge mistake. The JLA and other heroes worldwide ignored the call for help from Gotham. Why they couldn't see it in their hearts to forgive him, even though he saved the world. The result? Over 4 million lost their lives even more homeless and without an income. Both Blüdheaven and Gotham City were blown to smithereens, and so were most of the Bats. 2 months after the explosion only 3 bats were standing. The Bats now were the GCPD police commissioners daughter, the blood son of Batman, and the daughter of a true hero. Among the hundreds of other survivors, they are left to pick up the pieces and care for the wounded but what happens when the other heroes finally are ready to hear the whole story, or rather his story? Not rated mature but will include some topics that might be considered mature including mentions of past suicide. FYI Dick pretty much raised the bat kids, even though Batman was the legal guardian.
