“It didn’t have to end like this, Ethan,” Casey screamed from the other side of the elevator, his eyes where blurred due to the tears forming, “I loved you.”
“But loved is past tense Casey, what don’t you understand? I don’t love you, I love her more.” Ethan said, a flash of regret filled his eyes, but was masked with loathe and disgust.
“Stay…” he said, his voice barely audible, “Please.”
“Goodbye Casey.” Ethan said, his voice firm, but it held dread and sadness, what Casey feared most was going to happen. He was leaving. The love of his life was finally gone.
