Raelyn Shaw and Kuro Nishiyama are two lost souls trapped in teenage bodies. Both hide under skin embordered masks, and both are victims of their own thoughts and troubled minds.

Yet, when you take a look at Raelyn, or -Rae-, all that meets the eye is a smiling, timid young girl, a perfect student, and a quiet child. No-one suspects that the nice and picture-perfect student hides something vile and hideous within her, and no-one ever cares to stop and truly see her.

And when you look at Kuro, one of the Nishiyama twins, all you see is a rich reserved kid, and a top student. You wouldn't expect his shoulders to bear the weight of a thousand raging oceans, nor would you think of him as anything more than a prim and proper boy.

But how is it that the impeccably polite girl smiles and laughs with eyes as lifeless as the black sea, and how did the posh boy lose his voice and never snatch it back, if they were so normal ?

How will fate make their paths cross? And will they free themselves of their monsters before their thoughts engulf them and there is nothing left of them but skin and bones?
