"I don't hate you," Hermione's voice was barely a whisper against his chest.

"I know sweetheart" Draco murmured, his arms tightening around her.

She looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears. "But I should hate you," she confessed.

"You should," he cupped her face between his hands, eyes burning with intensity. "And it makes me the luckiest bastard in the world that you can't manage to" he rasped.

Returning to Hogwarts for their eighth year, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy are determined to leave the past behind and focus on rebuilding their futures. But the castle's familiar halls now carry an unfamiliar weight - a reminder of everything they've lost and the prejudices that once divided them.
