This book follows the life of Georgina, a 19-year-old single mother living in New York, struggling to make ends meet while supporting herself and her 3-year-old daughter, Denice, with mild neurodevelopment disorder.
One evening, while working overtime at a local chicken shack, Gina is approached by an old high school classmate who notices her, and her situation. She feels bad, handing Gina a business card for "Maurice's Playroom," a strip club in Manhattan, suggesting it might help her earn more money. Initially, Gina refuses outright.
But when her baby daddy hears a lie that she did become a stripper, and takes their daughter to Texas, she begins to question her choices.
