Nestled high in the breathtaking Colorado Rockies, the Overlook Hotel offers an unparalleled escape, with its grand halls, timeless charm, and an air of serene isolation. Set in the winter of 1975, this tale unfolds in the remote hills outside Denver, where a young engineer, Valentine, reluctantly joins the caretaker, Jack Torrance, and his family, Wendy and Danny Torrance, for a five-month off-season stay. Tasked with assisting during the hotel's hibernation, she hopes to find solace in the quiet, snowy retreat. As the blizzards rage outside and isolation grips the Overlook, Jack's mental state begins to deteriorate. Valentine soon finds herself caught in a web of chilling secrets, haunted by the hotel's past, and forced to confront her own fears. Will the growing connection between them withstand the madness, or will the Overlook twist their fates and turn desire into despair?

Italicized portions in the story are present tense commentary from YOU/(AKA)VALENTINE. Regular font is in 3rd person POV from the narrator. There MAY be a few chapters that include present tense commentary from other characters, but I will let you know beforehand.
