Five years ago, the world was irreversibly changed when a toxic gas swept across the globe, transforming humanity and the environment in unimaginable ways. The gas, originating from an unknown source, altered the very fabric of life. Those exposed to it were split into two distinct groups: mutants and evolved humans.

The mutants are grotesque, nightmarish creatures with a range of terrifying abilities. Some have enhanced strength and speed, while others possess deadly venom or the power to manipulate elements. These mutants roam the land, wreaking havoc on any survivors they encounter. Their numbers grow as they continue to multiply and evolve.

Those who were not turned into mutants underwent a different kind of transformation. They evolved into various races, each with unique traits and abilities. Some developed telekinesis, others gained superhuman intellect, and some even acquired the power to control nature. This evolution has led to the emergence of different factions, each vying for dominance and control.

In the wake of this global catastrophe, a system was established to rank the evolved humans based on their abilities and contributions to society. The system, known as the Ascendancy Index, categorizes individuals into tiers, from the lowly D rank to the elite S rank. This ranking determines their status, privileges, and responsibilities within the new world order.

To combat the mutant threat, brigades of evolved humans were formed. These specialized units, known as Exterminators, are tasked with hunting down and eliminating mutants. Equipped with advanced technology and unique powers, they venture into the most dangerous territories to protect the remaining human settlements.
