I found myself writing and thinking about all the black and brown hearts that are ignorant to the several rhythms they beat at once. This project was my English Honors Thesis, and now I feel my duty as a poet is to share with my community and educate.

This is a collection of romance poems that are a testimony of my experiences and discoveries during my undergrad, that are drenched in black culture and vulnerability. 

Here is the first section titled, "i'm just a girl". Enjoy this soul food.
