Years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry and Hermione are living their own overworked lives in quiet... unhappiness. Ron and Hermione can never stop fighting. Meanwhile, Harry and Ginny have drifted apart due to Harry's workload, leading to Ginny finding comfort elsewhere.
Hermione invites Harry over to her home, where he comes across an artefact she was asked to look into for work. Things go awry, and all of a sudden, they're in an alternate version of the wizarding world where things turned out differently after Voldemort's defeat.
