They told me beauty was a blessing.
They lied.

It made me a prize.
Then a possession.
Then a widow.

Now I hide-
behind grief, behind empty smiles and hollow laughter.
Until he came.

He didn't knock. He didn't ask.
He claimed.

Said he owned my life because he saved it.
Said I was made for him.

He calls me his goddess.
Worships me like I'm divine.
Obsesses like a sinner.
Loves like a man with nothing left to lose and everything to take.

His devotion is teeth and fire,
too holy to refuse,
too violent to survive.

And I-
I fear what I'll become if I let him in.

Because obsession doesn't feel like love.
It feels like drowning.
