Hoshina is a troubled teenage girl who has struggled with a bleeding disease her whole life. She's cold towards others and is very clueless about the world- having grown up homeschooled until the age of 15.

Akari on the other hand is the polar opposite. He's very friendly and extroveted. He has a solid friend group of five people- though he isn't quite popular. He loves talking about things he finds interesting and can sometimes come off strong.

The two will meet due to strange circumstances when on Hoshina's first day of school. Akari tries to befriend her though it doesn't go well the first time. He continued his pursuit of friendship and they eventually on speaking terms.
