He mumbled something under his breath, the first crack in his facade of calmness. "Yuh being unreasonable," he said, his tone sharp now. My eyes widened in disbelief. "Unreasonable? "Betta mi jump outta dis car," I said, my hand darting for the door handle. In an instant, he locked the doors as he slammed on the brakes. The sudden stop jerked me forward, the seatbelt the only thing keeping me from hitting the dashboard.
