When Emily’s home is knocked out with a devastating earthquake, she expects nothing. Nothing other than sleeping in rock-hard grounds, dark tents and brainwashing noises. The hilariously sarcastic Mr. Volunteer doesn’t mind it either. He doesn’t care what others think, he doesn’t follow orders and he doesn’t like being led. Instantly, he also doesn’t understand why Emily is so keen to follow the rules since he’s so used to bending them to his way. For Jayden, her reactions to his arrogance and ego is more entertaining than the new season of the Walking Dead. And, he's bent to keep her for himself.

But, as a kiss of death and a game of truth & dare binds them together for the rest of their exile, their initial hate transforms into a deep and thrilling bond.
