Married for two years, Anastasia and Greyson barely have much to show for it. Thrown into an arranged marriage for the benefit of the Russian Mafia, they have become accustomed to life with one another - mainly staying out of each other's way. However, recent events and discoveries begin to shift the delicate balance they've maintained. When Greyson stumbles upon a hidden ledger revealing a traitor within the Bratva, he has no choice but to question Anastasia, whose family name appears on the list.

Roman Petrov is her biggest enemy. Ironically, he's also the man she once loved, and the father of her children. Anastasia Ivanova, the leader of the second-largest mafia organisation in Russia, took the reins following her brother's brutal death. After making a reputation for herself as the 'Serpent', people feared her and could not keep her larger-than-life personality tamed. That all changed when she met Roman. He challenged her with all he had, yet gave in to her every demand, as she was his weakness, without hesitation. Roman Petrov is the leader of the largest mafia organisation in Russia, and has a heart as cold as the past that he carries on his shoulders. The 'Reaper' found the only woman who could control him. The one who could break through his exterior and soften him. Softening comes at a consequence when you're known for your ruthlessness. Unable to deal with his feelings, and much to the shock of the mafia community, Roman divorces Anastasia, leaving her with the burden of their two children. Returning to Russia will be difficult after two years for Anastasia, but the state she finds her ex-husband in shocks her beyond imagination. With the entire mafia now on their shoulders, these two must tread the waters of parenting whilst being aware that either one can break the other at any moment. They say opposites attract, but co-existing may cause these two to destroy.
