Contemporary Love

"You've gotten away from me one too many times," Tora said, pausing against the hollow of my neckline, his lips moving slowly and deliberately, with an almost teasing intensity.

"It's not that-" I began to protest, but his teeth gently grazed my collarbone, neither harsh nor soft, sending a shiver through me.

I couldn't help but exhale a soft, involuntary sigh, caught between anticipation and unease.

"You've been avoiding me," he accused, voice low and steady, clearly calling me out on my avoidance since the costume party. His words, sharp and filled with a hint of warning, sent a jolt racing through my core, waking something unknown within.

"This is a warning," he continued, voice dropping even lower. "If you keep evading me, I won't let you forget it easily." Without warning, I felt his hands slip between my thighs, warm and firm. In a quick, deliberate motion, he pushed my legs apart and stepped boldly between them. His gaze fixed on me, intense and unwavering. "I'll make sure you never forget. I'll make sure every time you see my face, you're a dripping mess of need. That's a promise, princess."

My face betrayed me, shifting uncontrollably as a storm of conflicting thoughts raced through my mind. Heat flooded my neck and rose to my cheeks, making me acutely aware of his touch.

"You promise?" I whispered, managing a small, mischievous smile that promised secrets yet to be revealed, even as I wondered if I truly knew what I was signing up for.
