Contemporary Love | Written by MrsMolinaaa
My heart grew heavy and a tinge sorrowful whenever I heard the word love. Conflicting emotions surged within me-hope and doubt intertwined-since the loss of several cherished loved ones had left their mark. The concept of love no longer resonated the same way it once did.
"I don't believe in love," I confessed quietly.
He responded almost instinctively, his voice gentle yet confident, "You do."
I rolled my eyes, wary of his certainty. "How could you possibly know that?"
He looked at me with an understanding smile, his eyes warm and wise. "Because you romanticize life itself. I believe you do believe in love and desire to be loved. But because of those who hurt you before, you've closed off that part of yourself-the part that yearns to give and receive love." His words made my vulnerability surface, yet I appreciated his honesty. He had a rare gift for reading people's depths.
