One day I walked through the door from my favorite coffeehouse. I never expected him to be there too, in the same place at the same time.
He turned his face to mine and his eyes widened a little. A small, wry smile appeared on his face when he walked over to me.
I tried to smile back, but I couldn't. I just couldn't. I didn't even know why I couldn't smile back at him, let alone say hi. I shut my eyes down and stared at my feet. All I could do was turn around and walk through the door of the coffeehouse again.
Away from him.
